What are stem cells?

Stem cells are unique cells in the body capable of dividing into either more stem cells or into different types of new cells, playing a crucial role in the body's natural repair mechanism for healing injuries and recovering from illnesses. They have remarkable regenerative capabilities, potent anti-inflammatory effects, and secrete growth factors that facilitate the body's healing process.

Why are cord blood derived MSCs useful in a clinical setting?

Cord blood-derived MSCs (Mesenchymal Stem Cells) are valuable in clinical settings because they have remarkable regenerative abilities, can significantly reduce inflammation by altering cytokine levels, and secrete growth factors that enhance the body's healing process. These cells are versatile, able to differentiate into various cell types necessary for repairing organs, tissues, and treating diverse conditions, from skin burns and infections to joint cartilage degradation.

Is stem cell therapy safe?

Stem cell therapy is generally considered safe, as the process involves meticulous management and stringent quality control. The harvesting of stem cells employs optimal methods that prioritize quality, safety, and efficacy, with a focus on minimizing manipulation and maximizing potency. Additionally, the use of closed systems in laboratories reduces contamination risks, and adherence to FDA registration and AABB accreditation standards further ensures the safety and purity of the stem cells used in treatments.

Can my body reject cord blood derived stem cells?

Generally, the body is less likely to reject cord blood-derived stem cells compared to other types of transplanted cells. This is because these stem cells are typically less mature and have a lower risk of causing an immune response. However, as with any medical treatment, individual experiences can vary.
